BIO
Born into a family of music lovers, the pianist and watercolor artist Tigran Poghossian was introduced to the instrument at the age of ten and took up his first brushes at the age of eight. His progress was dazzling and at the age of eleven he gave his first recital.
Inspired by music, nature, urban life and his travels through Europe, he divides his life between his passion for music and painting.

Distinctions
Winner of the Lyon International Piano Competition, Laureate at the Corbelin International Piano Competition, selected among the best participants of the BISMA Academy in Lodz, Poland, finalist at the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau and at the “Classic on Danube” Competition in Vienna, recipient of the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation Scholarship and the DAAD Prize 2022-2023, Tigran’s repertoire ranges from Bach to the music of our time.
He performs at festivals such as the Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival, Les Rendez-vous de Rochebonne, and in numerous venues in Europe and beyond, including the Salle Molière in Lyon, the Philharmonie in Lodz (Poland), the Brahms Institute in Lübeck, and the Aram Khatchatourian Hall in Yerevan, Armenia, on a well-publicised tour in September 2019.

Upon his arrival in France in 2004, he continued his studies at the ENM in Villeurbanne under the supervision of Anne Gaudemer. He then joined Hervé Billaut’s class at the Lyon Regional Conservatory. His visionary teaching marked the young musician who was admitted four years later to the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin where he perfected his skills with Susanne Grützmann in piano, as well as with Jonathan Aner and Eberhard Feltz in chamber music. He then continued his studies with Konstanze Eickhorst at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck. At the same time he received advice from Pascal Devoyon, Dmitri Alexeev, Jean-Claude Pennetier, Jacques Rouvier and Avedis Kouyoumdjian during masterclasses. He was invited to the Villecroze music academy in June 2021 and September 2022. He is currently pursuing his advanced studies at the Vienna Academy of Arts (MDW) in the postgraduate class led by Avedis Kouyoumdjian.
